Animal Avengers used 3d printing to save a life.

1. This is a tortoise, one of those adorable creatures named Freddy got really hurt in a fire (DON'T VIEW NEXT PIC IF YOU HAVE A WEAK HEART)
2. Freddie the tortoise is lucky to be alive after a bush fire in Brazil.
3. His chances of survival without a shell were slim but a group of pioneering surgeons known as The Animal Avengers decided to help him.
4. The Animal Avengers assemble includes four vets, one dental surgeon and a 3D designer.
5. They tried to print a 3D shell...
6. ... and they succeeded.
7. The new shell fitted Freddy perfectly but it needed a little color for him not to stand out to the predators, so the team hand-painted it to look as natural as possible.
8. "Freddy is a survivor and he deserves a chance", "He will get very popular with the ladies with his awesome shell".
9. Now this is a worthy use of modern technology.
