Some People Think The New Star Wars Movie Hates White Men

Why some folks plan to boycott the new Star Wars movie.

1. The extended trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released Monday. So everyone is super happy and excited and happy, right? RIGHT?
2. Nope. Because that’s not what the internet is about. Instead, people took to Twitter, trending the hashtag #BoycottStarWarsVII. Apparently, based on the trailer that runs 2:35 in length, people decided this new installment is going to be too racist.
3. Remember when things were simple? When in a galaxy far far away, two white guys could spend some time together blowing up an entire space station?
4. Now when that same galaxy also far far away comes into peril, some people are not happy that have to watch a black man team up with a vaguely ethnic, apparently Guatemalan-American, to save it.
5. It doesn’t stop there. The other lead in the film is this beautiful white woman. The people who plan to boycott this movie must be wondering if white males EVER catch a break. Surely, there’s a main character in this film that’s white.
6. There is! It’s Kylo Ren played by Adam Driver. I mean, yes, you never see his face because it’s covered by this black mask the entire time, but maybe it’s a start.
